University Economists See Growth Ahead for New Jersey Economy.

Jul. 18--NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J.--New Jersey's economy is about to start expanding, with slow and steady job growth predicted for the next several years, according to the head of an academic group that presented its economic forecast at Rutgers University yesterday.

"I certainly see the recession as being over for New Jersey," said Nancy Mantell, director of Rutgers Economic Advisory Service, or R/ECON.

"Since January the state's added about 30,000 jobs. It's been terrific job growth for the state the first half of this year, and that's what we're looking for to continue. a Essentially we're looking for expansion to start" this ...uarter.
