Jul. 29--Chuang Shao Pei, a woman who runs a factory with 3,000 workers in southern China, went out one day and whacked a chunk of rock off a local mountain.

She had a mold made of the rock, had resins poured into the mold and soon started producing hundreds of identical 4-inch pieces of rock-shaped white polyresin.

Each piece was hand-painted to look like a rough-hewn rock, then hand-painted again with the logo of a major American university: Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Oklahoma or 13 others.
