Jul. 30--JAPAN LEASING FIRM POSTS 16.5 PERCENT FALL IN GROUP NET PROFIT IN APRIL-JUNE: TOKYO--Orix Corp., Japan's top leasing company, said Wednesday its group net profit fell 16.5 percent in the April-June ...uarter from a year earlier to 14.10 billion yen due to increased business expenses.
Net profit per share was 168.45 yen, down from 201.85 yen a year earlier.
Orix also blamed the net profit fall on a one-time gain it booked a year earlier of 1.94 billion yen due to a change in its accounting method.
Group pretax profit fell 1.5 percent to 25.92 billion yen on a 6.2 percent rise in group operating revenue to 170.92 billion yen.
