Two-Year-Old Thai Market for Alternative Investment Advances Steadily.

Aug. 13--Two years after its launch, the Market for Alternative Investment is now trading at its highest levels ever, closing Monday at 210.08 points, up 10.73.
The MAI was launched in 2001 as an e...uities market for small- and medium-sized enterprises and start-ups.
The exchange currently has eight companies and 10 securities traded, including warrants, with a total market capitalisation of 2.85 billion baht at end-June.
While turnover has risen in recent months, market officials say prices remained relatively undervalued, with most activity driven primarily by short-term speculators.
