Aug. 15--The neon was gone in Times S...uare, but the epicenter of Manhattan was shining last night.
The rare sight of stars against the velvet curtain of night drew thousands to the area, creating a mini New Year's Eve celebration.
Collin Poole, 21, an actress who strolled over from the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood, was amazed by the sight. "I'm going to lie down and watch the stars," she said.
Zev Greenfield, 28, a Columbia University student, said: "This is bizarre. Can you believe it?"
Greenfield and his friend Brendan Yam both stared at the sky in the middle of Times S...uare.
