Aug. 19--NORFOLK, Va.--The presidents of Norfolk State University and Tidewater Community College on Monday provided updates on multimillion-dollar projects -- the RISE building at Norfolk State and a capital campaign at TCC -- in their back-to-school speeches to faculty and staff members.
NSU will break ground on its long-anticipated RISE Center on Saturday, Nov. 1, in conjunction with homecoming, President Marie V. McDemmond said. "This is such a major project for Norfolk State, and something we want our alumni and people who tend to come to homecoming to be aware of," she said in an interview Monday.
