Glaxo Pushes to Get Newly Approved Viagra Competitor in Stores.

Aug. 22--Glaxo is racing to get its rival to Viagra on sale in America as early as next month after regulators gave the anti-impotence treatment the green light late on Tuesday.

Levitra, a drug developed in co-operation with Germany's Bayer, hopes to hit the shelves before another rival, Cialis.

Glaxo and Bayer plan a 'substantial' campaign to reach doctors, followed by a big advertising push. To reach men over 40, and to reassure them the product is sufficiently masculine, they are sponsoring the American football season and have hired a famous coach as spokesman.
