Aug. 27--Unwanted and unloved?

No doubt that's the feeling at Universal Orlando today. The resort's parent company, Vivendi Universal, is still trying to figure out which bidder it deems worthy enough -- or wealthy enough -- to buy its entertainment division.

The painfully long process continued Tuesday when Vivendi officially narrowed the list to two -- an investor group led by Edgar Bronfman, whose family once controlled Universal; and the NBC television network.

Word has it that NBC is the top contender. That's bad news in Orlando, because the peacock network is said to have little interest in theme parks.
