Westminster, Colo.-Based Drug Firm Gains $40 Million in Latest Funding Round.

Aug. 28--Westminster-based Myogen Inc. has raised $40 million in private financing in an otherwise tight venture capital market.
The round was led by institutional investor New Enterprise Associates and includes JPMorgan Partners, InterWest Partners, Se...uel Venture Partners, Perseus-Soros Biopharmaceutical Fund, CMEA Ventures, and Pacific Rim Ventures.
Myogen has lead the state's growing biotechnology industry in fundraising in recent years. The pharmaceutical company raised $66.4 million in another private financing round that closed in January 2002.
The 50-employee company has one drug on the market in Europe and three other therapies in the pipeline....
