Aug. 25--It's tough to resist a happy, healthy new baby, smelling of sweet milk and powder.
That's true for friends and family -- and for Central Indiana hospitals eager to be chosen by parents.
For hospitals, a happy birth is an opportunity to start a relationship with a family -- especially with the mother -- that can translate into years of loyalty.
Women make most of the health care decisions for a family, experts say. So hospitals are investing in state-of-the-art medical technology and the kinds of amenities savvy, consumer-oriented moms-to-be expect.
