Lieberman Recalls March on Washington during Appearance at University.

Aug. 29--WASHINGTON --Joe Lieberman tried with all his heart, soul and rhetoric Thursday to tell a Howard University audience how much the 1963 March on Washington changed his life and how much he cares about the interests of African Americans.
Some in the student crowd of 100 walked away skeptical.
Eric Watson, a senior, bristled when he heard Lieberman talk about how the civil rights movement also helped Jewish people.
"When one group goes up," Lieberman told listeners, referring to Jewish and African Americans, "every group goes up."
