Portland, Ore., Public Market Gets Help from Congressional Delegates.

Aug. 6--Supporters of a Portland public market to sell and showcase Oregon products are closer to choosing a downtown site, thanks to recent steps by the state's congressional delegates.

Ron Paul, who coordinates special projects for the Portland Bureau of Planning, said the city will receive at least $50,000 from the U.S. Department of Agriculture in this fiscal year for a planning and feasibility update, mainly focusing on use of the historic Skidmore Building block on Northwest Ankeny Street and under the Burnside Bridge in Old Town.
