Sep. 7--NORWALK, Conn.--Like citizens throughout the United States, Priceline.com founder Jay Walker saw the horror of the 9/11 attacks and wondered how America could protect itself from more terrorism.
Potential targets were everywhere: chemical plants, power generators, gas pipelines and reservoirs -- to name a few. Not even an army of police or security guards could cover them all.
But where others saw a dilemma, Walker, the wealthy inventor and problem-solver, saw a challenge. For two years, he researched ways to make America's most critical infrastructure safer from terrorist attack.
