Tracks Repaired, Trains Moving after Derailment in San Timoteo Canyon, Calif.

Sep. 10--BEAUMONT, Calif.--Trains are rolling again through rustic San Timoteo Canyon and investigators should know in a few days what caused Sunday night's major derailment.
One track opened Monday night at about 8 p.m. and a second track was opened at 3 a.m. Tuesday, John Bromley, a spokesman for Union Pacific Railroad, said by phone.
A westbound freight train derailed at 9:30 p.m. Sunday for unknown reasons while heading to Colton from Pine Bluff, Ark., scattering 17 cars along the tracks. An eastbound freight train heading to Fort Worth, Texas, from Colton hit a boxcar on the tracks, causing three of its locomotives and five cars to derail,...
