Charter Airline Nears Decision to Remain at Winston-Salem, N.C., Airport.

Sep. 13--Pace Airlines is a step closer to staying in Winston-Salem.

Thanks to a tentative deal between the Forsyth County Airport Commission and Timco Aviation Services Inc. of Greensboro, Pace may get the permanent hangar space it has long wanted at Smith Reynolds Airport.

Pace has been subleasing hangar space from Timco, which leases 246,000 square feet of mostly hangar space at the airport.

After a special meeting of the commission yesterday, the authority and Timco -- which have been at odds for more than a year over their contract -- announced a tentative agreement on a new lease. Under the proposed lease, Timco would not rent as much space...
