Sep. 16--ANAHEIM, Calif.--It had the trappings of a major political rally.
Pop singer Michelle Weeks warming up the crowd with a hip-hop version of an old Diana Ross tune. A slick video praising the incumbent and attacking the opposition. Then there was the big photo op -- Abbey, a 12-year-old black Labrador flown in from Northern California to pose on stage with her owner, both wearing bulletproof vests, to poke fun at the opponent.
