Sunrise, Fla., Holding Firm for Perfume Retailer Seeks Sweet Smell of Success.

Sep. 18--E Com Ventures is pushing to consolidate the retail and wholesale perfume businesses.
The Sunrise holding company for the retailer Perfumania said Wednesday that it planned to buy certain assets of the wholesaler Quality King Fragrance as well as a related company, Scents of Worth, that has 3,000 kiosks in such stores as Filene's and Kmart.
Terms were not disclosed. The deals, not expected to close until well after the critical holiday selling season, have a $1 million breakup fee.
The planned moves essentially mean that the $2.8 billion privately held Quality King Distributors, which offers other beauty products, is spinning off its fragrance...
