Sep. 19--Andrea Dixon left the Hartford area eagerly after she graduated from high school in 1988. Raised in Burlington, she recalls thinking the capital city was "a pit."
Now she's back as a freshly minted physician, a first-year resident at Connecticut Children's Medical Center, living just over the city line, in Wethersfield.
And what a change. On return from spending her 20's in vibrant Washington, D.C., she finds a city on the mend, still lacking true urban energy but with signs of hope.
