Sep. 22--American Airlines has again scheduled the start of service between Fort Lauderdale and Caracas, Venezuela.
The flights have been postponed several times in the past few years as the travel climate in the United States and Venezuela fluctuated.
Originally, flights were to have started in December 2001, but the Sept. 11 terror attacks led U.S. airlines to cut their schedules and the service was postponed.
A poor economy and political instability in Venezuela further delayed the launch of service. Earlier this year, American went through a financial crisis, pushing the Venezuelan connection once again to the back burner.
