Legal Fight Delays Plans for Boynton Beach, Fla., Hospital.

Sep. 21--WEST BOYNTON, Fla.--Plans for a hospital in the fast-growing area west of Boynton Beach could be mired in legal appeals for years, pushing back construction of a facility that area residents say is needed immediately.
State regulators granted Bethesda Memorial Hospital permission to build an 80-bed hospital in this suburban area, but appeals from three surrounding hospitals could stymie its opening until as late as 2010, Bethesda's chief operating officer said.
Without the appeals, the hospital, which would be called West Boynton Community Hospital, could be built in about three years.
