Sep. 23--STATE AWARDED GRANT FOR IT WORKER TRAINING: Connecticut has won a $3 million federal grant that state officials say should help information-technology workers improve their skills -- and keep IT jobs in the state as a result.
The grant from the U.S. Department of Labor will provide training to more than 900 workers whose employers are part of the I-84 Capital Corridor IT Consortium in the Waterbury, Southbury, Hartford and New Haven areas. Employers have contributed another $1.85 million for the three-year program.
