Company Seeks Approval to Close Chicago-Area Hospital.

Sep. 23--The company that runs Waukegan's two hospitals will soon take the first step toward closing St. Therese Medical Center despite criticism from some physicians and public officials.
Vista Health, which also operates Victory Memorial Hospital, will file the initial paperwork to close St. Therese with the Illinois Health Facilities Planning Board, officials said.
The company will outline for the state board by the end of October why the hospital should be closed and how it plans to continue providing health services to Waukegan and Lake County. The board would have to approve the closing.
