University of Texas Gift Grows to $232 Million.

Sep. 25--AUSTIN, Texas-Dallas oilman John A. Jackson's deepest well probably will be his generosity to the University of Texas, which will announce a windfall from his estate totaling $232 million on Thursday.

The donation to the geosciences department at the Austin campus is one of the largest in the nation to a public university.

Mr. Jackson was 88 when he died in March. A year before his death, he announced an estate bequest to UT that was estimated to be worth $150 million.
