Richardson, Texas, Toyota Dealership Launches Expansion.

Oct. 2--Toyota of Richardson has launched an expansion that had been approved by the city two years ago.
In October 2001, the city approved a rezoning on 3.4 acres of city-owned property northwest of the dealership at 1221 N.Central Expressway. At the time, the company planned to build a three-level, 755-space parking garage and a 58-bay service facility. A 52-bay body shop exists on the eastern portion of the site.
Toyota bought the property from the city for about $70,000.
Toyota of Richardson general manager Steve Grogean said in 2001 that the dealership might be forced to leave the city if it was not allowed to expand.
