Despite Economic Woes, Mexico Still Hot Spot for Expansion for Ford, Others.

Oct. 11--MEXICO CITY--Mexico is bleeding manufacturing jobs amid a two-year-old economic slump. There's little hope of meaningful tax or energy industry reforms any time soon. And its court system and bureaucracy still puzzle most global companies.
But that did not stop the Ford Motor Co. from announcing this week an ambitious expansion of automobile production in Mexico. And the economic slump did not keep Mexico from ranking -- in a recent survey -- among the best destinations for companies looking to expand.
