Salaries May Rise at Coastal Carolina University.

Oct. 13--There may be a modest pay increase this year for Coastal Carolina University employees, Executive Vice President Sally Horner says.

Employees received a salary increase in January that averaged about $1,000 each, Horner said. An increase this academic year would be in the same ballpark.

Revenues from tuition are expected to be at the high end of the range administrators expected, Horner said, but a raise "won't be as much as everybody hoped."

Horner's words come at an apt time. CCU's chapter of the American Association of University Professors will discuss the emotionally charged issue at a forum Tuesday.
