South Carolina Utility Asks Regulators for Permission to Cut Natural-Gas Rates.

Oct. 17--S.C. Electric & Gas rates for natural gas will be less than expected this winter -- but still higher than a year ago.
The company, which raised gas rates twice in the past 12 months, asked state regulators Thursday for permission to cut its natural gas rates about 6 percent heading into the colder months.
