Peoria, Ill.-Area Consumer Index Rises.

Oct. 21--PEORIA, Ill.--Consumer confidence is up in central Illinois, according to the latest Index of Consumer Sentiment for the Peoria area.
Sponsored by Bradley University's Turner Center for Entrepreneurship, the Index of Consumer Sentiment was 12.5 points above the level recorded four months earlier -- the largest jump in more than a decade.
Fifty-six percent of households surveyed this summer in Peoria, Tazewell and Woodford Counties expect positive business conditions in the year ahead, said Bernard Goitein, director of the Center for Business and Economic Research at Bradley's Foster College of Business Administration.
