Tyler, Texas, Airport on Rebound to Pre-9-11 Activity Level.

Oct. 19-- If first impressions hold, airline activity at Tyler Pounds Regional Airport may be getting back to its pre 9-11 level.
SkyWest Airlines' arrival in August helped bolster boardings, and figures from September, SkyWest's first full month of operation, showed 5,790 people boarded flights at the airport, 675 less than in August 2001, before the terror attacks and resulting grounding of aircraft and fear of flying stifled the September numbers for that year.
The new airline contributed 1,057 of those boardings, and most of its daily flights out of the airport are usually full.
