Long Island City, N.Y.-Based Internet Grocer Offers Kosher Food.

Oct. 28--FreshDirect.com, the Internet grocer based in Long Island City, has gone kosher.
The company, which began operations about a year ago and has been slowly expanding within New York City, is offering custom-cut glatt kosher meats, cold cuts, fish and other kosher groceries, in addition to its regular groceries and meats.
FreshDirect decided to add kosher meats in response to consumer demand, said Joe Fedele, company co-chairman and chief executive. "Whatever they want, as long as I can give them a better price," he said.
