Fifth Daily Flight Added at Waterloo, Iowa, Airport.

Oct. 27--WATERLOO, Iowa--A fifth daily turboprop flight at the Waterloo Regional Airport has taken off, and city officials are confident additional jet service is in the works.

Mayor John Rooff joined Bob Benner, director of state and local government affairs for Northwest Airlines, at the airport today to announce the details of a fifth daily flight between Minneapolis and Waterloo on a 34-seat Saab 340 turboprop airplane.

City Council members voted unanimously in September to approve additional revenue guarantees to the city's lone airline in return for the additional flight. The flight, which has a 10:40 a.m. arrival and 11:10 a.m. departure daily, began today.
