Jump in Airfares Unlikely, Experts Say, despite Prices Being at 15-Year Low.

Oct. 30--The price to fly generally remains at a 15-year low.

In the troubled airline industry, increased passenger traffic, fewer airlines or higher fares would be seeds for a revival.

But none of this is likely in the near future, airline executives and analysts say.

As a result, air fares at 15-year lows in most markets are likely to remain at those levels for the foreseeable future, say officials in the industry, which has lost $19.5 billion and 110,000 jobs during the past two years.
