ING Outsourcing Talks Imperil 100 Hartford, Conn., Jobs.

Nov. 1--ING Group is negotiating a contract that would outsource more of its information technology work, a move that would affect 100 employees in Hartford.
Dutch insurer ING confirmed Friday that it is actively negotiating a contract to hire an outside company to perform a portion of its IT operations that builds and maintains servers and networks.
Philip Margolis, an ING spokesman in Hartford, said it wasn't clear when -- or if -- ING employees would have an opportunity to apply for jobs with the outside company.
He would not identify the company or give a specific timetable for when a contract might be signed.
