Nov. 3--Macintosh fans fired up last week when Michael Hanscom, a temp worker at Microsoft's copy shop, was fired for taking a photo of Macs being delivered to a Microsoft loading dock.

The trouble came when he posted the picture on his Web log; his boss found out, and he was shown the door.

Microsoft wouldn't comment, but plenty of other folks did when Hanscom's story was flagged on Slashdot, a techie Web site, as a Mac fan fired by Microsoft.

The Slashdot crowd seemed unusually sympathetic to Microsoft, with many of the postings acknowledging the importance of the confidentiality agreements that most tech workers assent to upon hiring.
