Expansion Plans at Visalia, Calif., Hospital Hinge on $51 Million Bond.

Nov. 2--VISALIA, Calif.--Failure is not an option in the minds of Kaweah Delta Hospital officials as they wait for voters to decide the fate Tuesday of a $51 million bond issue to help pay for the hospital's expansion.

The bond -- essentially a loan to be repaid over 30 years by increased tax assessments on property within the hospital district boundaries -- requires the approval of two-thirds of voters to pass.

It's a tall order, but those running the campaign for Measure M hope they've gotten across the message that the bond issue is crucial to the hospital's ability to offer care to the community in the future.
