Northern California's Grocers May See Pickets.

Nov. 1--Striking Southern California grocery workers plan to bring a taste of their walkout to Northern California by conducting informational picketing at supermarkets in the region, union officials said Friday.

Although plans haven't been firmed up, the United Food and Commercial Workers union expects to "extend the picket line" beyond Southern California to areas such as Northern California, said Rick Icaza, president of UFCW Local 770 in Los Angeles.

"One of the ripe areas is Northern California," he said during a news conference.
