Nov. 11--Two years ago, a hacker penetrated Lee D. Fairchild's computer and destroyed the data of his business, Fairchild Productions, a consulting service for high-definition videos and movies.
The Madison Village resident tried in vain to salvage the information.
And there was no local company specializing is data recovery to assist him, Fairchild recalled.
The nearest firm offering such service was in Florida, and its fee was exorbitant.
Eventually, Fairchild decided to fold the business he built over three years.
