Comcast Raising Rates On New England Standard Cable Package.

Nov. 22--Comcast Corp., the state's largest cable television provider, said Friday that it will raise rates on its most popular service package by an average of about $2.70 a month across its New England franchises, starting in January.
The company currently charges $39.22 a month for its "standard service" package in the franchise areas closest to Hartford. So if the Hartford area saw the average rate increase, the price increase would bring the new monthly charge to $41.93 -- an increase of about 6.9 percent -- not including taxes and other charges.
