Nov. 24--First Niagara Bancorp's focus these days is squarely on the east, as the Pendleton-based banking company gears up to close on its $357 million acquisition of Troy Financial Corp. early next year.
But don't be surprised if the parent company of First Niagara Bank eventually turns its attention to the west or the south once it's finished with its push into the Albany area.
"We've got some plans down the road to move into the Pennsylvania and northeast Ohio markets," Paul Kolkmeyer, First Niagara's interim president and chief executive, said last week during the Western New York Investors Conference.
