Grocers Prepare for New Competitor in Fort Wayne, Ind., Area.

Nov. 24--FORT WAYNE, Ind.--With Marsh entering the fray, Fort Wayne's groceries prepare for heavy competition.

The competition for supermarket shoppers in Fort Wayne is almost as cutthroat as it can get.

Almost. The battle of the "big box boys" -- Meijer and Wal-Mart -- and the traditional grocers -- Scott's Foods and Kroger Co. -- is going to heat up another notch when Indianapolis-based Marsh Supermarkets opens its new store here a few weeks from now.
