El Paso County, Colo., Home Construction Remains Strong in 2003.

Dec. 2--There's one month left in 2003, but it's already been a surprisingly good year for the Pikes Peak region's new-home industry.
Single-family building permits in El Paso County totaled 279 in November, a 13.9 percent jump over the same month last year, according to figures released Monday by the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department.
Meanwhile, for the first 11 months of this year, single-family permits totaled 4,064. That figure is down 3 percent from the same period last year.
This year still marks the sixth-straight year single-family permits have exceeded 4,000 -- a figure that's come to symbolize a strong year for the building...
