Dec. 6--Sometime over the next few days Granada and Carlton will post a merger document to shareholders designed to give the go-ahead to a single ITV.
The business case for approval of the deal is that, in an increasingly globalised and multi-channel television environment, size is necessary to support the creative process and to compete.
Unfortunately for Granada/Carlton and other media groups recently in the news, they have been caught up in the corporate governance frenzy sweeping through boardrooms on both sides of the Atlantic.
