Aerospace Industry Expects Rebound in Commercial Airplane Sales.

Dec. 11--WASHINGTON -- The steep drop in commercial airplane sales should bottom out in 2004 with a rebound expected in the following two years, the aerospace industry association said Wednesday.
For the first time in five years, employment in the aerospace industry is expected to increase in 2004, the association said in releasing its annual forecast. The number of aerospace jobs sunk to 575,400 this year, but the industry is expected to add 27,000 jobs next year.
Overall, the industry generated $147 billion in commercial, military and space sales in 2003, down 4 percent -- or $6 billion -- from last year.
