Former El Paso Trader Pleads Guilty to Reporting Bogus Natural Gas Trades.

Dec. 12--Todd Geiger, a former El Paso Corp. trader, indicted on charges he was involved in reporting bogus natural gas trades to an industry publication, admitted guilt Thursday as part of a plea deal with federal prosecutors.

Geiger, 39, a former vice president at Houston-based El Paso's trading operation, was indicted about a year ago on one count of reporting of inaccurate information under the Commodity Exchange Act and one count of wire fraud.

He pleaded guilty to the reporting charge and faces a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a $500,000 fine.
