Texas Looks Unlikely as Selected Site for Boeing Dreamliner Plant.

Dec. 13--There's not much of a chance that Texas will land the plant to assemble the 7E7 Dreamliner.

Boeing Co.'s board of directors is scheduled to vote Monday on whether to offer the plane to customers. The next day, a formal announcement is scheduled in the Seattle area, where the company's commercial airlines unit is currently based.

Competitors trying to woo Boeing say the announcement location is a good indication that the assembly plant will stay where it is.

"If they are having an announcement there, it's probably going to that community," said Mario Hernandez, chief executive of the San Antonio Economic Development Foundation.
