Las Vegas-Area Utility Customers to Get $34 Credit in Market Manipulation Case.

Dec. 13--Las Vegas area residential gas and electric customers can expect about $12 in credits on their bills early next year thanks to a $48.3 million settlement of a market manipulation lawsuit.

The parent company of El Paso Natural Gas also has agreed to make additional payments to Nevada over the next few years, bringing the total credit to $34 for residential customers, state consumer advocate Tim Hay said Friday.

The credits will be made on residential customers' bills for Southwest Gas Corp. and Nevada Power Co. services.
