Dec. 17--A Valdosta, Ga., attraction owner who has succeeded by investing heavily in roller coasters and other thrill rides will attempt to resurrect Cypress Gardens by luring younger generations back with exciting draws never seen before in the tranquil old Florida attraction that closed suddenly in April.
The Trust for Public Land, which secured an option to buy Cypress Gardens in September to protect it from development, is finalizing a deal with Wild Adventures owner Kent Buescher, Greg Chelius, the trust's Florida director, told Gov. Jeb Bush and the Florida Cabinet on Monday.
Under the deal, Buescher would pay $7 million for 120 acres, Polk County and Winter Haven...
