Public Service Company of New Mexico to Supply Power to Mesa, Ariz.

Dec. 23--ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Public Service Company of New Mexico has signed long-term deal to supply 35-megawatts of power to the city of Mesa, Ariz. PNM said it expects the contract to bring in $12 million in 2004.

Under the deal already approved by the Mesa City Council, PNM will replace Ohio-based American Electric Power as the supplier to complete a contract that runs through 2013.

PNM took over the contract because AEP wants to concentrate its business in its own Mid-western market, Miller said.
