Waco, Texas, Communications Firm Joins in Bid for Navy Helicopter Contract.

Jan. 8--L-3 Communications, Waco's largest industrial employer, has joined forces with six other companies to pursue a $1.2 billion contract the U.S. Navy will award to build 23 helicopters for use by the president.
Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., based in Stratford, Conn., is leading the group, which it calls the All-American VH-92 Team. Sikorsky chose the name because the companies pooling their resources are American,
and VH-92 is a type of helicopter Sikorsky makes.
