Japanese Firm Wins Contracts for Bahrain, Qatar, Gas, Oil Refinery Projects.

Jan. 13--TOKYO -- Plant engineering company JGC Corp. said it has won contracts to build a large natural gas refinery in Qatar and expand an oil refinery in Bahrain.

The orders, valued at $2.03 billion, came from Dolphin Energy Ltd. of Qatar and the state-run Bahrain Petroleum Co. (BAPCO), JGC said in a press release.

JGC said it will design and construct a natural gas refinery in Ras Laffan, Qatar, for Dolphin Energy for about $1.6 billion.

Dolphin Energy's project includes extracting natural gas from the North Field site in Qatar and transporting it through a 70-kilometer pipeline to Ras Laffan for processing before shipment to the United Arab Emirates...
